Ok... I'm pushing myself to do some more of what I love. But I am lacking some inspiration. SO... I thought I would make a little competition for you all.

The Competition Criteria. 
1 well written description of one of your characters. This can be a re write from the one in the Mod approved profile or if you think it's good enough, a direct copy.


The Rules!
1) Characters must be accepted and approved by mods.
2) No more then 2 applications per person (user) please, and only 1 per character.
3) If a re write is being submitted, I MUST have a copy of the original description to be sure it is the same character.
4) Applications are to be posted in this thread, along with original profile links.
5) Player Characters only, not NPC's please.
6) This competition closes at midnight GMT UK on Thursday 22nd of July 2010.


Artwork will be drawn when a winner has been decided. This picture WILL take time so please do not harrass for it after the competition closes but I aim to have it completed before the end of the month. This, however is an estimate and may require a little longer.

Winner will be announced on the Saturday evening.

Zeusol Feralina Zelphias III

While not the most attractive man in a building, Zeusol isn't hideous, he's gained a battlescar across his chest, and his face bearing a gash-like scar stretching across the right side of his face. He has unkempt silver hair, with red-colored tips, no one has figured out why. His eyes are the color of the sky, a lightish blue, but have a faint glow. He is about six foot even in height. and a normal weight of 180 pounds.

Zeusol's physique isn't impressive but far from underestimatable, thanks to his life in the Lost Woods, he may do things that others of his age might not be able to do, such as jump higher, or run faster, he can lift things that would prove too much for regular humans, his stamina has been increased from his childhood as well, giving him long-lasting tenacity in a fight, which he usually tries to avoid. Slight muscle can be visibly seen from a short distance.

His attire isn't what someone would call classy, he mostly wears tattered clothes, to date, no has figured out why. His shirt is silver, to match his hair, save for the red color, it doesn't seem to have many holes, as battered as it looks from a distance. The same cannot be said for his white pants, however, they could be called shorts if one were to observe, being tattered to the point of the lower half of the pants falling off completely, save for the right leg, which is held up by the chain he uses. As for his traveling attire, he usually packs light, not carrying much save for his weapons and minimal amounts of food.

His chin is sharp, though not enough to cut through anything, as others have joked. His all-round face is a mask of plain and solid concrete, always calm, and always staring, some even claim him to be an Iron knuckle with it's armor removed, though many find it ridiculous. He doesn't have very prominent cheekboenes either, slightly showing out of where they are palced, the cheeks, if one were to poke them, they would feel flesh move around to reach these bones. His nose is a regular Hylian nose, save for the scars touch, giving it a blemish, a crevising mark that stretches down the right side.

Age: 30

Race: Goron

Occupation: Chef

Appearance:
Gormay is a larger than average size Goron. His massive hunched back peaks at about ten feet above the ground and his big round head sticks out of the rocky mass at about a height of seven feet (His body shape is similar to that of Dangoro from Twilight Princess). His large pot-belly and muscular arms are covered in blue tribal tattoos. He has deep, dark blue eyes and soft, handsome facial features that make him more approachable than most Gorons. His distinct odor is most often described as a medley of kitchen smells.

At work, Gormay wears a white apron that's often covered in stains and smudges as well as a matching white chef's cap. Elsewhere, he wears the casual dyed loincloth common amongst his people. However, depending on the weather, he may also wear a giant poncho that spans his entire body and protects against cold or rain. It is knit from blue- and green-dyed wool into an intricate pattern of Goron tribal designs.

This is a slight rewrite of the original, but there's more old stuff than new in here. Mostly more clarity and detail. The original is on the application - see the link in my signature.

Name: Hazel Blackwell-Jade

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Race: Hylian

Appearance: To suit her generally superior attitude, Hazel focuses on making her appearance as perfect as she can, to the point of fussiness. If you’re the cause of any dishevelment to her hair, clothes or general appearance, then you’re probably not on the best side of her. This, however, is within the boundaries of the style of dark hues she prefers, intended to make others intimidated or uncomfortable, as well as to separate herself physically and emotionally from others. As such, she wears her black hair slightly longer than shoulder-length, often purposefully sticking out in places, and the fringe is nearly always arranged so that it obscures part of her face from onlookers: oftentimes so far as to cover an eye. If this is a style which seems messy, then it is very much deliberately so – she is meticulous about her hair. As such, close inspection would reveal a certain bounce to the follicles and an utter lack of dirt, grease or matting.

When not dressed formally for balls and social functions, her attire is most commonly a white, silk, button-up shirt underneath a black, open V-neck jumper of softest Ordonian cashmere. The shirt is worn with the top two buttons undone, displaying her collar bones and the very top of her chest. This falls within the second, larger ‘V’ of the neck of her jumper – this ‘V’ stretches widely, to the edges of her shoulders, and reaches its point over her breasts. The shirt’s tails protrude from the bottom of the jumper, overlaying her trousers or skirt slightly, and its sleeves similarly emerge from underneath the sleeves of the jumper, covering her hands a little. Below the waist, she wears either trousers or, more commonly, relatively short thigh-length skirts, usually in black or red. As mentioned, however, she has a number of dresses and gowns for formal occasions, usually accompanied by an expensive pair of high-heeled shoes. Day-to-day however, she wears a pair of plimsoll-like shoes, patterned in black and red, over the top of a long pair of black socks, nearly knee-high.

Her eyes are relatively large, set shallowly into her face, and the pupils are somewhere between grey and blue. She is quite prone to dark bags underneath them when at all sleep-deprived in the slightest. Her nose is straight, if on the small side, and her ears are pointed as dictated by Hylian genetics. In them, she often wears a pair of small earrings, little more than tiny sparkling gemmed studs. As for her facial features, if they aren’t displaying a bored, unimpressed, or irritated attitude, it’s likely that she’ll have a malicious grin playing around her lips in its place. The lips themselves are full and healthy, and usually unadorned (although when at a ball or the like, she is more prone to wearing lipstick). She makes no bones about her beauty, accentuating and using it to influence people. Her skin is a little pale, but this could be from her prolonged exposure to icy magic as much as anything else. She stands a little over 5 and a half feet, and is of very slim build, weighing just slightly over 50 kilograms – and as such possesses no physical strength to speak of.

All in all, Hazel's appearance is carefully maintained, and is intended to, by turns, both attract and impress others, whilst at the same time distancing them. In this way it complements her personality perfectly, allowing her to take advantage of others who might be swayed by her looks or charms, whilst still keeping them at a wide emotional distance.

Name: Yeetor

Age: 45

Race: Yeti

Appearance: Yeetor towers over most other creatures at the incredible height of ten feet. His white fur is not purely white, as a slight light blue undertone is also present. It is the same type of blue you might see on a vast expanse of snow, or to a frozen lake that has a few layers of snow on top. His dark blue stomach scales provide a good contrast to the rest of his fur, taking up the space where humans would have their abdomens. His tail is a good three feet in width and about four in length, adequately concealing his red bottom. His tail is normally down to keep people behind him from seeing this strange condition.

His jaws protrude from the bottom jaw of his massive mouth on both sides, forcing the lower lip down a little. They are larger than the average yeti’s, yet not so large they look unfitting on his face. His eyes are a dark blue, similar in color to his stomach scales, and are easily seen against the white of the fur that surrounds his face. He has one of the leather helmets that most yeti’s wear to hold in heat, though he prefers not to wear it in anywhere but the coldest of places. He wears a large brown pocketed belt around his waist that contains the various items he uses or could need in the wilderness.

His legs are thick and heavily muscled due to the mountainous terrain he grew up in. His feet are the same color as the parts of his body not covered with fur, a blue slightly darker than the undertone his skin has to it. His face is fairly average aside from the over sized fangs, the eyes are a normal distance apart, nose is normal length etc. He always has either a confused look on his face, or a smile, his amnesia robbing him of too many other emotions.

Full Name: Barom Wind-Chaser, of the Rohm clan

Age: Young adult for a moblin. He is around twenty five years old, and was only a child during Ganondorf’s reign.

Gender: Male

Race: Moblin

Occupation: Hunter, warrior

Appearance: Overall, Barom has a large, imposing presence standing over seven feet tall. He stands a head and shoulders over most hylians, and have a bulky, muscular build. He has broad shoulders and thick, strong arms and legs. His skin is coarse and tanned, with calluses on his hands and feet. All this is topped with a fierce looking face. He has a huge nose and a long snout shaped like a boar’s snout, complete with a pair of four inch, bone white tusks jutting from his lower jaw. His ears are large and flopped over like a dog’s. His eyes are a plain brown. He doesn’t have hair, per se, but a coat of short tan coarse hair much like a boar’s. Added to this appearance are several minor scars picked up from a history of raiding and battles, the most noticeable being a series of three parallel scars over his right shoulder. On one shoulder, he bears a primitive tattoo resembling a spear head, a faded black in color.

Barom usually wears plain leather breeches that are rather worn. The claw marks of some animal can be seen in a few places. This is fastened by a leather belt with a bronze buckle of Moblin make. Rather crude, but fully functional. He also wears tough, iron shod boots, equally worn. The leather covering the boots has worn through in some places, revealing a dull metal underneath. They make a distinctive clink noise when he walks. He wears a sleeveless vest, also made of worn leather. He generally leaves it open in the front. In cold environments, or in adverse weather, Barom often wears the hide and fur of a white wolfos as a cloak. On his belt he constantly carries a water skin, a pouch for his rupees and other such items, and a large knife and sheath. However, despite their worn appearance, Barom does try to keep his garments relatively clean. He also wears a simple stone talisman, caved to resemble the emblem of spirits, around his neck. The talisman is made from a simple, grey speckled stone, and bound on a leather cord. Over his back, he keeps a bundle of javelins strapped behind his back, and his spear is carried by hand, often used as a walking stick when it isn't needed for combat.


Weapons: Barom’s spear was constructed by him when he came of age. The spearhead was made from a piece of iron that Barom beat into a rough and jagged arrowhead shape. The iron is worn, but Barom keeps the tip and edges sharp and relatively free of rust. The shaft of the spear is a gnarled length of wood, only roughly straight. Barom is used to the shape of his spear, but anyone else who tried to use it would probably find it imbalanced and awkward. The shaft is covered in an array of carvings consisting of angular abstract shapes and stylized creatures. (In addition to decoration, these carvings let Barom know where his hand is on the shaft just by feeling it.) A dark green tattered strip of cloth is tied to the shaft near the spearhead.

Additionally, Barom carries a small bundle of six smaller throwing spears or javelins. These are made from straighter wood, smoothed and uncarved to reduce on the air drag they experience. The ends of the javelins don’t have metal tips, but are simply carved to a sharp point and fire hardened. When he is not using them, he keeps this bundle over his back, out of his way.

To throw these javelins, Barom has a spear thrower or atlatl. It’s a straight stick the length of Barom’s forearm. It has a groove carved down its length, with a raised peg at one end and a small stone weight in the middle. The javelin rests in the groove, with its butt resting against the peg.

Additionally, he keeps a large knife on his belt. The blade is about a foot long, and shaped in a simple straight forward blade without embellishment or decoration. It has a little bit of rust on it. The handle is made from wood, wrapped in bands of leather. Overall, it is plain, crude, but functional. He uses this mostly just for sharpening his javelins and skinning and butchering any animals he kills.

This was a difficult competition to judge guys. Well done for some amazing entries.

Its given me an idea though that I may need to change my way of running this sort of thing in the future and add sub categories. But for this particular competition, for his clarity and depth of description the winner for this competition…
